An Intro to Creativity Here at Root & Build
“In the beginning, God created…” — Genesis 1:1
Before He revealed Himself as Judge, King, or Father, God introduced Himself as a Creator.
He painted sunsets, composed birdsong, sculpted mountains, and designed the intricacies of every living thing—from galaxies and ecosystems to the fingerprints on your child’s hand. And of all He created, only humans were made in His image. That means we were designed to reflect His heart, His love, His wisdom… and yes, His creativity.
Creativity is not just a fun personality trait or an “arts and crafts” hobby. It’s a sacred part of our design. When your child builds a tower out of LEGO, dances with joy to worship music, mixes colors into a new shade of wonder, or solves a tricky problem with patience and persistence, they are mirroring the character of their Creator.

Creativity is worship.
Not a distraction from faith—but a doorway into it.
This space celebrates creativity as a hands-on, heart-deep way to know and love God.
You’ll find ideas and activities that use both sides of the brain and all five senses. Because truth isn’t just something to memorize, it’s something to experience, explore, and express.
In the Creativity section, you’ll discover:
- Art, music, dance, and movement – To help children worship their Creator with their voices, bodies, and imagination—using what He gave them to give Him praise.
- LEGO build plans – Illustrating Bible stories in joyful, tactile ways—designed by former professional model-builders and perfect for kinesthetic learners.
- Creative writing prompts & storytelling – Opportunities for your children to explore Biblical truth through imaginative fiction, poetic reflection, or character-based journaling.
- STEM-based projects and problem-solving activities – That nurture order, patterns, and logic—revealing how even analytical thinking can reflect God’s beauty and intentional design.
- Parent encouragement – Gentle guidance to help you notice, nurture, and celebrate your child’s creative strengths—and support them in growing new ones.
Because creativity isn’t just about being “artsy.”
It’s about turning our hearts toward God through the unique ways He designed us to think, move, build, and express.
Created to Create
When we encourage our children’s creativity, we’re not just helping them develop a skill…we’re helping them draw closer to the One who imagined them first. We’re giving them a language to process their faith. They learn wrestle with questions and rejoice in truth. To paint their praises. To build their beliefs.
It’s not about perfection; it’s about presence.
He doesn’t about performance; He cares about purpose.
It’s not about Pinterest-worthy outcomes…
It’s about saying, “God, I see You. I love You. I want to create with You.”
Let’s raise a generation who sings, builds, sculpts, designs, and dances their faith into the world…with joy, reverence, and delight.
Because when children use their creativity to glorify the Creator, they don’t just make something beautiful—they become someone beautifully rooted in Him.
